School of Footballing Excellence

Going forward, I will be launching a School of Footballing Excellence that will run weekly in Bolton. This school will bridge the gap between grassroots football and the Academy System which some experts seem to think is flawed.

Foundation Phase (5-11 years old)

      • Mastering the football
      • Football skills
      • Technique
      • Movement
      • Futsal

Youth Development Phase (12-16)

  • High quality coaching
  • Technique
  • Football skills
  • Psychology
  • Football intelligence
  • Tactics
  • Speed, fitness and agility
  • Nutrition

As well as highly qualified coaches, guest speakers will deliver classes on nutrition, psychology and motivation. They will help to support the young players on the footballing journey.

I know from experience that young football players who have been released from an academy, or feel that they may have been overlooked, can often feel rejected resulting in them falling out of the game. This is becoming more apparent, particularly towards the end of the youth development phase.

The Kevin Davies school of footballing excellence aims to deliver a diverse programme in a safe, professional and inspiring environment supported by our selected coaches and experts. Any player looking to improve their overall game will benefit from joining and making new friends along the way. Toward the end of the youth development phase pathways into football and sport including coaching, refereeing and further education will be identified and discussed.
